I agree with you, Glen, the kids are the most important thing, and we need to do our best to make this organization work for them. I'm on the Board, and I have to say that yes, things could be better. The biggest problem is that we don't have enough help to get everything done. There are around ten people that are doing all the work - run the concession stand, organize the refs, schedule the games and practices, take care of the finances and taxes, register all the players with USA hockey, recruit sponsors, order uniforms, recruit coaches, and a million other things that take a lot of time, and we all also have jobs and families just like you. We need help!

The board has completely changed to new people over the last couple of years, and none of us has a lot of experience at this. At the annual meeting there were only about 15 or 20 people there, and not many of them were willing to participate on the board. Plus, we have absolutely no representation from parents of the youngest kids, the mites. Where is everyone? This is your organization, please help us make it work!

If anyone would like to pitch in and help, or at least have your voices heard, please come to the board meetings - fourth Thursday of every month at 7pm at the Ice
Rink (but this month, due to Christmas, it has been changed to the 12th). We're looking for anyone that has ideas for improving the association and anyone that can help us put these ideas into action.

Robin

PS. The uniforms have been ordered, we just have to wait until they come in. We can't order the uniforms until a) we have sponsors and b) we know how many kids are on each team, and c) we know how many teams there are. The money from the sponsors does not cover the cost of the uniforms, but it comes close.
