I agree with Larry Bird except for the point that he was insulted when a white player was gurarding him, I think that defeat his purpose because if there were more good white players in the league they would end up having to guard him, what he was saying that the best players in the league were black. Everyone knows that the only reason this is getting any press is because he is a white guy talking about race. Why should only minorities have a right to talk about race. He is just using the same arguements that guys like Jesse Jackson uses for the African-American community. If the NBA was 90% white you know Jackson would be in an uproar, thats why they are consentrating about the management positions in sports. He does have a point if a majority of the players are black, why aren't there more office positions occupied by blacks.

If you want to get technical, if Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton wants businesses to represent the race makeup of America, why not the NBA, if America consists of lets say 60% white, why aren't 60% of the NBA white?. I would like to see every one's response to this.

My opinion is that every job should be filled with the most qualified people, it could be a construction worker, a CEO of a company, a GM of a sports team or an athlete. I hope this doesn't sound racist, but if guys like Jesse Jackson was smart, he would encourage more blacks to stay in school and get their college degree so when their playing career is over they could be qualified for management positions for teams, but that would be too easy and Jackson would lose his power. Maybe another subject for another time.
