As for sports figures and race, I will say that Dusty Baker caused something of a flap last year, mostly because it prompted the question - "had a white manager said something similar, what would have been the reaction?" I think if I'm a sports figure known for my accomplishments, I'm keeping my mouth shut on this topic entirely. I'm not sure why a few of them can't grasp that.
