To answer Kris' point, he's right, especially with the military planning to lower entrance requirements (which, put INCREDIBLY bluntly, may mean a dumber, slower military, though that's probably an exaggeration). Kris has enough Iraqi morons to deal with, he doesn't need to babysit yokels with an 8th grade education (again, an exaggeration).
Now, to Lou's point, thank you for oversimplifying the Democratic agenda. We Democrats (yes, I'm out of the closet now) are happy to discuss policy with anyone who'll listen. Problem is, most conservatives are too busy trying to catch whatever Rush, Drudge, O'Reilly, or whoever said so that they can spin and misquote it, twist it out of proportion, and paint everyone who questions authority with the same swath of pink paint. Besides, we lost Florida, so we'll learn from our mistakes and try something else to, as you put it, buy votes from the people who lost their jobs during the Bush administration.
