Yes! Michigan, the feeling's forever. I am apparently the only one who feels this way, but I think your plan for Michigan is going too far. Do you know how expensive the fire retardant wall would be?? Besides, I am just waiting to see the next sequel- Escape from Detroit. NO, the solution lies in money we as a people have already spent. The US Military has weapons capable of surgically removing Michigan without boiling all the fish in the great lakes, or getting soot all over the likes of Ohio. Though we might have them extend their efforts towards South Bend, IN and Gary, IN. They too seem to suffer from Necromichigandrobiosis. All we need to do is announce with a small ad in the newspaper, thereby only alerting the literate and sharp-eyed, that the destruction will begin in 4 days, that should be enough time to pack up and leave quietly. Then let-er-rip. Michigan Military Testing Grounds, they could even practice their ground assault skills, since we are obviously going to have to be at war until our economy improves.
Now I'd like to talk about some of the problems I'm having with Oregon...and Canada...and Idaho.
