>I haven't seen the film either but I have seen enough critism of the film to make a small judgement, no where did Mel Gibson intended this film to be a Hollywood protrayal of Christ, it's ment to be REAL LIFE, I bet a crusifiction (pardon my spelling if I got it wrong)wasn't a walk in a park or something we saw at at the end of Monty Python's Life of Brian where everyone is singing. It's ment to be as real as possible and sometimes life isn't a bed of roses. As a society, we try to hide or deny the bad in this world, while we should see it as it is and try for it to never happen again. I probably wouldn't send my chilren to the film, not because of the violence but because they would't understand the violence in the overall context of the film and life, we need to talk to our children about the life of Christ and what his death means to Christians to this day.

As for the protests of Jews, I can see their point, but if you didn't know that the Jewish people had a hand in Christ death, you never read the gospels in the first place. Also, you are a closed minded Christian if you see the film and blame them 2000 years later. Either way Christ was going to die for our sins, it was foretold in the old testament in the book of Isaiah and there wasn't anything they could have done to stop it.
