I along with Karl have tried to find articles of interest in small town activities...tempe, mesa, chandler, gilbert and phoenix are also made up of small town people who moved from a small town, as well snowbirds and people wanting to escape the winter cold from back east..there are not enough, if not any, news stories about small town america unless its a most wanted fugitive....I have written to all the news stations about doing a story on the Tigers and have never received any reply back..how rude...the only station that does air all sports is cox cable channel 9... I think there should be space in the newspaper to print news outside of the phoenix metro area..cuz some of us still enjoy the memories we had as kids and to keep up with how the small town is doing along with its old and new citizens......I was bragging at work about how our globe team had done in the football and basketbal season..and she asked me, "are you still in high school and dont you have anything better to do?" I just smiled and told her I am very proud of where I went to school and of our small town, and support them in good and bad times..because those kids that play and work hard are sons and daughters of your friends and thru-out the years...I felt sorry for her, because she was just never happier to leave high school and leave it all behind. but in the end, we always go back to that place we once called home...so maybe one day we may get a reporter who will take an interest in small towns and not tape all the violence and garbage that happens in this big city they call phoenix...
