My name is Lauressa Thomas, and I am a Senior at GHS this year. So First I want to say thank-you for making this site. It is pretty cool, having a site for GHS! Then next, I want to know some of the old traditions that classes "back in the day" had that we have kind of gotten away from. I know that a lot of parents or GHS alumni like to see some of their old traditions brought back...things have changed ALOT and as Student Body President, our council wants some new and exciting ideas that our public would like to see at GHS, so if anyone has any ideas, please contact me. lauressa_jeanette33@hotmail.com And yes, our football team are the New COnference (southern division Champs) YAY! If anyone wants to know, we play this Friday, November 8th at Harbison Field at 7:00. It is the first round of play-offs and we play Higley. We'd love the extra support for the boys if anyone can make it!
Thank-you!

Sorry Karl it has taken me so long to drop back in here, but happy I did. Love the new message board, great job once again. Am happy to see the Globe Tigers kicked some butt in football--once again proving what champs the tigers are and have always been. Someone told me that the tigers have beaten the vandals for like 10 years straight--is this true? I suspect it is true and we have had the copper kettle for many years now--ha ha.

Keep putting off what should be done! Procrastinating big time.

Hi from a former Vandal,(MHS 75).

I don't think anything could burst your bubbles about being State Champs, so I'm not even going to try. I'm more of a basketball nut anyway. Didn't miss as much, because I was in the Band in HS and at NAU. At that time, I would get excited. Now, only half-time holds my attention.

I will be in Globe Thanksgiving week-end (for the first time since the Class of '68 reunion) for my godmother's 90th birthday. I would like to bring some champage to celebrate the event, but not all the way from New York. When I was last in Globe, there was a good wine store in the old shopping center at the intersection of US 60 and the road to Roosevelt Dam. Is it still there? If not, any recommendations? And while I'm asking (although this will make it appear that all I care for is alcohol), what are the best bars in Globe these days? And to sober up, is there a Starbucks or somewhere else to get a double espresso in Globe?

Karl, you are the best to keep the Tiger Den up and running!

Winslow will dominate Globe this week in the semis,
We have the best QB in the state and our RB Horne will show Golden what being a real football player is all about.
The Mitchell brothers and the rest of the defense will crush your offense. We will shut your offense down you wont even score, We will hold you in negative yardage all night.
And that kicker you have wont help because we will block everyone of his kicks. We are bigger, stronger, and faster. Face it we killed Blue Ridge and you have no chance against us.

Globe beat Willcox a second time, in the state 3-A quarterfinals, 34-0, 11-15-02, according to the East Valley Tribune Web site. Game was in Mesa. I think now they go to the semi-finals. 34-0 is quite a blowout for a playoff game. I guess the 2002 Tigers are for real!

I retired as a school counselor 5 years ago and took this DOD job as an Educaitonal Service Specialist, I interpret the ASVAB for high school juniors. I also have 31 years as a Warrant Officer in the Reserves. Never enough jobs out there! We are a military family. Hey, you guys write and let me know what the heck you all are doing. Globe Tigers (9-1) defeated the Higley Knights (5-5)40-7 in Friday's first playoff game. Globe's next victim is Willcox (8-3). Globe beat Willcox 35-28 on 1 November in Willcox.

At the same time, Miami (7-4) was defeated by Tombstone (11-1) Friday night by a score of 45-21 in their first playoff bid. Tombstone has been tough this year--the mercy rule was invoked in four of their games because they were so far ahead of their opponents.

How 'bout them Tigers??? What a great regular season, with only ONE loss!! Kicked rear big time in most of the games, starting with MIAMI!!!

It is strange seeing them play so many different schools -- they are totally different than the ones Globe played when I was going to school.

Karl, Congratulations on getting a new message board. It was about time! I was getting stale. I met Mike Maryott at
Miami's Multi year reunino. He turned out to be a decent soul, with a lovely wife, even if he is from Miami.
I met the enemy and they were mine!

Glad to see you've found Voy Forums. They've worked well for me at my own site and I know you'll have fun configuring everything. It's a very usable page. I managed to erase all the posts on mine more than once while redoing things... but eventually it all worked out. (Now Voy has a back up system!)
