OMG.. what a flood of memories your posting created. Virgil, no one at GHS during your years as 1st chair trumpet would have used the word "bad" to describe your playing. Even Calvin Thompson was an admirer. Thanks for the memories of you and Nunie and AJ and all the boys/girls making that trip with us. Look how far we have all come. Congrats on your successes. I enjoyed your website tremendously. Karl, I never knew ya but thanks for providing this site as well. My entire family checks in every now and again.

I WAS A MEMBER OF THE MIAMI HS BAND IN 1945 & 1946. I PLAYED THE BARITONE HORN. I HAD THE PRIVILEDGE AND THE FORTUNE TO BE INVITED TO PLAY IN THE GLOBE CITY BAND. IT WAS A NICE EXPERIENCE.
I AM TRYING TO LOCATE A CORNET PLAYER NAMED HAROLD BIRCHER (A MORMAN BISHOP'S SON) IF YOU'RE OUT THERE HAROLD, PLEASE CONTACT ME. IF ANYONE KNOWS HIM PLEASE CONTACT ME.
