...Winter Storm Watch For Sunday Into Monday - Potential Of 6 Inches Or More Of Snow Accumulation...

The snow that overspread the region last night has moved off to the south and east. Some intermittent light snow or flurries may linger into the afternoon but no additional accumulation is expected today. Snow accumulations were generally 1 to 3 inches.

From Sunday into Monday... a major winter storm is expected to affect the region. The storm has the potential to produce in excess of six inches of snow. Over Delmarva and extreme southern New Jersey... some sleet and freezing rain may mix with the snow Sunday night into Monday.

Strong northeast winds are expected to accompany the storm... and may produce blowing and drifting snow. Persons planning to travel anytime from Sunday into Monday should monitor this situation closely and keep updated with the latest weather forecasts.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio... your local radio or television stations... or your cable television outlet for further details or updates. Additional weather information can be found on the internet at www.NWS.NOAA.Gov/er/phi in small letters.
