We have been monitoring the removal of wreckage on this site for the last 5 years or so and this appears to have been taken during the winter of 2003/04. The landowner did not give permission for this removal and the people who removed it clearly knew:

a) precisely where the wreckage was
b) how to get to the wreckage from the adjacent landownership without being seen
b) that the supercharger was relatively intact
c) they knew how to remove the supercharger and had tools
d) there were at least two of them as the parts are heavy to move

It is appalling that someone has removed this part in this manner and the landowners were very angry to find this had happened as they keep in touch with relatives of the pilot that was killed in the crash. The pilots relatives wish the wreckage to remain where it is as a memorial and were equally upset at the news.

The wreckage was either removed by an aviation group, or collectors for their private collection, or for re-sale.

If anyone has knowledge of the whereabouts of this item please report it here.
