I was on my way up to the Wellington MF509 site Wednesday 28th June and I met a man and his wife (and dog) who had just been to the site. They asked me of any other wrecks in the area and when I mentioned Vulcan XH536 the man told me that he was a recovery technician working out of Sennybridge in the 60's and he was part of the team that recovered all of the heavy wreckage, using Queen Mary trailers. He also said that there was a security blackout because of possible nuclear ordnance on board. Five bodies were found, all of them with their arms covering their faces, as if they saw the disaster approaching. He also said that there is no wreckage left at all but I have been to the site and there is wreckage left, and it still bears the white anti-flash paint common on the V-Force during the Cold War. It was an interesting day in the hills.
