Fly 2 was poor.... a pure gore fest... not smartly done liek the orginal 1986 fly.

but coem on! isn't it fun to watch Martin rip up all of the bastard, bartoks goons?

Yeah, that aspect of THE FLY II is a bit fun (considering that it's just blood-packs and latex, and not real). I remember watching this film late one night (during a "Fly Fest" marathon) and marvelling at how many times in a minute it could make one yell, "Ewwwwww!"
As for being incorrect, I thought that THE FLY II was far inferior to THE FLY, and that some bits of it were incorrect. One big difference is the speed of Martin's evolution into Martinfly - it went faster, and less of it occurred on camera. As a result, he didn't look as repulsive as Seth did when he was deteriorating, as when Seth lost his ears and teeth (though the part where Martin pulls off his own eyelid is MIGHTY nauseating...)
I also thought that while Martin was appealing enough, he and Beth didn't really connect the way that Seth and Ronnie did, and I didn't feel as sorry for Martin as I did for Seth (feeling sympathy for a character all depends on the actor/actress playing him/her, and Martin didn't seem as miserable over his fate as Seth did).
In short, THE FLY II was passable, but nothing compared to THE FLY (I could have just said this sentence and had done with it, but I felt like rambling...)

I think "The Fly II" simply just lacks a bit in storyline but attempts to make up for it with its gore and effects.
And although its a good movie, it failed.
There isn't enough charactor development between Martin and Beth to pass of a love story and without a strong story supporting it the effects are just flat.

lol, I think the trailer said enough. "Like father like son" and "Don't be afraid, be very very afraid". A bit corny I'd say.
