Date Posted: 14:45:11 02/18/02 Mon Yes, the film was produced by BrooksFilm, which is the production company of THE Mel Brooks. He also produced David Lynch's "The Elephant Man" - for which he removed his name, so that people won't think by mistake it's a comedy. Check the IMDB for BrooksFilm to see more films produced by this company. Two related issues: 1) Did you notice the similarities between "The Fly" and "The Elephant Man"? 2) Mel Brooks seems to love John Hurt (my favorite British actor, BTW): He had cameos in "History of the World Part 1" and "Spaceballs", and got the main role in "The Elephany Man", which was produced by Brooks.
