What other organization, let alone astronomy club, would go to such trouble to make an almost 80 year old lady feel so welcome???
She will feel wealthy as a result of her trip here, and the rest of her life enhanced by the experience, i have no doubt.i for one feel blessed to be part of fvas. thanks for the leadership as always Paul.
I went out and shot jupiter last night in the backyard. rather frustrating. The neighbour two doors down, had their backyard lights on , huge lights, encroaching on the space in my back yard. the planets were blurry to say the least. The belt had come off the primary on the obsession at the beginning of the evening. Luckily it was a quick fix and a more permanent fix than before i think. Had to remove the counterweights to get the nut tightening down. Then twice i had to tweak the collimation. Still the camera did not really want to come into sharp focus. Saturn was even more difficult. Still , i have used astrostack to load the images (about twelve of them, and then paint shop pro to fiddle with contrast and clarify). Not too bad considering the effort.
Paul can i attach am image to an email such as this. if so, how?
i will try again soon. anyone go the park this weekend?
