Q. I've made several one piece calls. I drilled the depth to 1 5/8" with the center of the soundboard height at 1 3/4" with the sides angled at 5 degrees with 3/8" bottom left. Here is the question. My calls sound deeper and have more resonance than a couple calls I bought from a call maker who drills his to only 1" uses a square body and leaves about 1/4" on the bottom of the call, his sound squeaky and at times real squeaky. I fiquire this is due to the drill depth, angle and height of the soundboard. Is this right or am I off base?
