The fact is, I think Chip put it best, there are pros and cons to each. Some folks like to think they're hand carving a call, when they're actually using a router.

Gibson, Fender, yamaha and all the rest guitar builders agree, the more accurate you can make the wood thickness is secondary to nothing in sound.

So, put my vote on calls that are glued. There is 100 times more craftsmanship in them in my humble opinion. I mean anyone can use a router table and make a solid call. But when you look at a glued call and can't find the seam but you know it's there, that's craftsmanship.
