Yeah, there is probably something attractive about testosterone poisoning, and you found a woman who would admit it.

But they don't really expect to get beaten, so the pertinent question is why do they stay afterwards?

Leaving aside that the beatings often don't start until there is a child, which (let's face it) disrupts even heathy marriages and makes it economically harder to leave...

1. Right after he beats her, he is normally an apologetic sweetheart.

2. He has told her that if he can't have her no one else will.

And, you know what? Most women who are killed in battering relationships are killed when they try to leave.

My basis for the above: over 20 years of trying domestic violence cases, service on the advisory committee of the Texas Council on Family Violence, two publications on family violence, and still teaching about it....
