This "recruit, recruit, recruit"--is this what the colleges mean by "yield"? Get the butts in the door? The percentage of applicants who are accepted and actually attend a particular college?

Then there must also be statistics on their graduation rate--in fact I think Skin has mentioned it in this thread.

So my question is: Why do we hear so much about "yield" [assuming my above definition is correct] and not nearly as much about what percentage of their freshmen they graduate? Do they break this down along racial lines, listing XX% of whites vs. XX% of Indians? Or are the Indians lumped in with minorities, so that the true extent of drop-out of each group isn't noticed?
