Interesting and scary at the same time. How come tornados appear on the east coast only? And is there something like El Ninjo on the westcoast?

Here by the sea where I live, they warn us on the radio if the wind blows 180 miles/hour or faster. (But it never spins 'round; what makes a tornado spin?) Old trees fall down. Sometimes people get knocked down by those trees or branches fall down on their heads. During winter in Sweden people sometimes get knocked out by big icicles falling down from the roofs of high houses.

Friends of ours live in Iceland. That's an extremely windy place too. They told us what happened once when they were out on a Sunday trip with their children. The wind was blowing hard and they went to watch the Atlantic rage from above a steep cliff. One of the children was still a baby, so he was sitting in his baby chair in the car and they discussed if to leave him in there a few minutes or take him with them outside. They took him with them outside - thank goodness, 'cause when they came back to the car, the wind had blown out the window on the side the baby had sat.
