They don't hibernate, but they consume more calories in order to stay warm. Just like people! My cats eat very little in the summer, and pig out like crazy as soon as the weather changes. They don't hibernate, but crawl under the duvet and sleep and sleep and sleep. In the winter, they cuddle up to me and keep me warm.
