Subject: To have butterflies in one's stomach and overhead projectors in one's hands

I remember one teacher we had in what corresponds to American senior highschool. During the very first lesson teaching us, he leaned both hands on the edges of an overhead projector. His arms were totally stiff and he moved the projector around when shifting his weight from one foot to the other. During this 45 minute nonstop workout, he even lifted it up once. Those projectors can be pretty heavy. I don't think he was really aware of what he was doing when concentrating hard on talking. Anyway, nobody laughed, 'cause he spoke no nonsense and demonstrated he was very serious about his job which meant he took us seriously too from the start and I think that was a perfect ground for the good (and relaxed) co-operation he and his pupils had for as long as he taught us.
