well I hadn't meant to make this into a long story, because these kinds of stiory are winter time storys. Arounf the fire yes, so you guys were right about the fire part, as well it's more a continuation of the way of being a two legged human indigenous person or people.

So the rest of the story I'm just going to make short and sweet. This is totally a long story told with songs embedded in certain areas and smoking and so on, and it can go on for many nights, because this is justa tiny piece of a lOOoooOOnnng story. .....:

Anyway, what happens is that the puppy escapes with a little help from some bird frens, which I'll talk about because it's endemic to the narration:

the puppy has been sleeping nights on the roof top by the smoke hole because he wanted to keep in contact with his frens, So the birds come by to ask about his progress and he tells them that he knows where the deer are but Crowman is really suspicious and watching him all the time so he doesn't want to release the deer yet.

So the bird says. okay then we'll try to help you. At a time in the early morning right before first white horizon, a whippoorwill comes flying in through the smoke hole and flys around inside the crow home. he spreads out his wings and drops some marsh dust all around inside because this is acts as an opiate .. and Crowman falls into a deep sleep.

As the bird flies back out, he tells puppy boy to go ahead now realease the deer because crow is fast asleep.
But crow woman had her face covered under her blankets when whipperwill came in so she didn't breathe any of that stuff.

As puppy boy jumps off the roof and runs for the narrow canyon, crowoman shakes her husband telling him theres somebody out there and I think its the dog running to the deer meadow!.....But crow man is in deep blissful sleep ..ahhhh ...ZZZZZZZZ....

puppy dog runs to the slab rock, finds the cane that crow used and in the bushes there and taps on the rock. The rock opens and puppy boy calls ..Ohie!..Ohie!.. and soon all the male deer come to him ... and he tells them to go! run out and go live in the land out there! ... as they bound off .. puppy calls ... ma Ohie!... ma..Ohie! .. and pretty soon the does come runing and he tells them the same things ... and so on with the rest of the animals that crow had trapped in there.....

But Crowoman wasn't about to let the animals go without any protection like they had before. before the animals couldn't smell... their only protection was their hearing .... so she steps out into the path of the running dear, rubs her crotch vigioursly and holds her hand to the noses of the running dear as they pass ... and yells after them ... from now on, you will be able to smell anything far and wide ... and nothing will harm you so easily anymore ....

and that is how first smeller came to be .. :)
