I am so very sorry to hear about your winged friend. I how I do understand your grief. I hand feed baby cockatiels from a pair my ex-husband & I had {we use to have over 15 different birds in our living room...hehe...all sizes} years ago & my daughter picked one from the clutch that was odd....well you see them in stores but they are kind of a fluk, they ones that are white & yellow with specks all over. Well we kept her & named her freckles, she was part of the family & had her up until about 4 years ago now. It broke all of our hearts. She didn't talk but she was special never the less. She had gotten egg bound & died one morning after a few days of doing all I could to help her. I have a small dreamcatcher I made with her feathers on it that I will have the rest of my days. So.....I know how you feel girl & there is nothing silly about it. Love is Love , thats all there is to it! O' & yes the hawks were there for you.
