Your story is just sooo sad and ugly, that that poor boy could have felt so desperate as that!! [shivers ....]

This is a smaller city, and somewhat conservative usually, but after 9/11 the local council of churches rallied round and worked with the mosque to hold a joint open house and 'get acquainted' days in the schools and stuff -- I think it really helped alot. We have local KKK-type groups here, and big-wig Right-to-Life organizers, yet any persecution campaign like that never really got started [so far at least, knock-on-wood !! ]. I've been really impressed by what a community can do when they get together on something like this -- but then the Chicago area has never been known for its ethnic tolerance, has it ?? :o(((

I'm still thinking Americans as a whole could resist this administration and its moves toward 'scientific/technological fascism' (that's what I've heard it called recently) if we could just wake up and recognize it !!
