Geez, Gayle, you have kids of college age, don't you?

When I went to the University of Texas, the tuition was $50 a semester. Not per credit hour....PER SEMESTER, no matter how many hours you took. Of course they tacked a bunch of fees on that brought it up but it was nothing like the hundreds of dollars per hour they charge now.

Texas still has lower out of state tuition than Indiana has in state tuition, so it could be worse. But I always thought it was neat that a generally backward state like Texas would support two world class universities in a manner that did not require kids or parents to hock their eye teeth to attend....
