Tamales for Christmas sound good!

I had the fully turkey meal yesterday, the cooking always falls to me, which doesn't bother me and I got a lot of things prepared early in the day so the cooking was straightforward.

But after escaping the flu/cold/cough germs that have been circulating and causing news items in the papers since October, I finally caught the bug this week, so yesterday was really only fit to sit in a corner with a box of 'kerchiefs. Today I anticipate being peaceful, with lots of time to myself and few interruptions (i.e. no one else wants to catch the cold).

I know what you mean about turkey, it's a kind of heavy meal, particularly served with all the extras, and it can leave everyone sleepy. I'm having a meal with lots of chillis this evening, so a complete contrast and I always find chillis to be comfort food when I'm not feeling well.

No white Christmas here - still raining! The weather was good yesterday though, lots of sunshine in the morning.

Bella
