Subject: Chapter Thirty-Six: "Travel, Talk, Tay, Trouble..."

[Dan's POV]

Ah, the lure of the open road. The wind in my hair. I never thought I'd have hair long enough to blow in the wind. Before this whole incident, in fact, I was just shy of having a decent afro going.

Anyway, the wind is in my hair. My girlfriend and best friend are beside me. And I'm listening to "Meteora" from the custom CD player in my Godfather-in-Law's 1968, cherry-red Thunderbird convertable.

Life.
Is.
GOOOOOOOOD.

"Amanda, been meaning to talk to you."

And the problems begin.

"Yeah, about that. Do you have a problem with me or something?"

Time to turn up the steryo. *Click.* They turned it off! This won't end well.

"You, personally? No..."

"But...?" She was expecting it. The "But". There's always a "but". I know just how this conversation will go, too. He say how the last two grilfriends were... not very nice, and that he's worried. Then she'll say that he has nothing to worry about, and mutter how he should butt out. Then an argument will insue, leaving me serving like a drunk man down the street and totally clueless as to how to get to Tay's house.

Watch, you'll see.

"But... to be quite honest..."

Yup. Here it comes...

"I'm kinda jelous of you. All Dan talks about is you when he comes over. You and video games. Kinda annoying, really."

That... was completely unexpected.
And a bit relieving.

"Really? He cares about me that much?"

And she's as shocked as I am.

"Maybe more. Do you know he has, like, a shoebox full of love letters to you that he never sent by e-mail or anything? The boy's whipped!"

She's in hysterics, and I'm trying to resist the temptaion to kick them out of the car and drive into a wall in embarrassment. Why did he have to mention the shoebox?!?

"All I'm trying to say is, let him have some time to hang with Junior an' me, kay? Other than that, you have my support. I really think this relationship'll work out."

"I know it will." Amanda latches on to me. It feels good to have so many people who care about me. I want all my friends to feel this way, too. Even J.T., and I'm certain he'd castrate me before he considered me a contemporary, not to mention a friend. I'd die for these guys.

And if the plan I've got works, no one else may have to.

"So, 'Manda-jo," Luis asks, "how do we get to Tay's?"

Linkin Parks blasting through the speakers again.
Life.
Is.
REAL GOOOOD.
*#*#*#*#*
[Junior's POV]

I'm in Middle-of-Nowhere, Peach-Land (That's "Dalton, Georgia", for those who care), and I found the Voyles's house. It's covered in blood. somethin' that looks like Barney and Reptar's love child is lyin' dead in the yard. an the whole place is burnt.

DBZ Goku senses someone nearby. I turn to see that dragon guy. Two of 'em. They wanna kill Amanda, too.

Not before me. They c'n have what's left after I take Alex and that dick-head, Luis, home.

"You guys seen Amanda?" I ask. They point down the road. "Thanks! I'll give you th' blonde's head when I'm done!" Sephioroth picks me up and we're flying.

They're flying behind me. Dragon-Guy #1 says that only he'll kill Amanda. Wrong.

"Gum-Gum PISTOL!" Rubber fist hits dragon jaw.
Monkey, the Gokus and SonSon are below, in the car, with a few other monkeys I thought of taking with me. Like Donkey Kong and those Zombie-Apes from that Gorillaz music video, and Mojo Jojo.

"You'll have to go through the monkey prince and his servants first," I tell him. This should be fun.

Ooh. New plan! Amanda and Magnus' blood on the same sword! Hee hee hee! What a horrid way to die.

I love it! XD
#*#*#*#

[Red's POV]

I decided not to tell Amanda that I still have my doubts. I could see that Danny didn't want that brought up from the way he cringed. That's okay. I did tell her the truth. I am a little jelous, and I do believe that if he can be happy with anyone, it's her.

In the meantime, we made it to Tay's house.

"What's the plan?"

"After we get Tay, I'd like to go check up on Chewy and Jim Ohki and JP. we haven't heard from them, and I don't doubt that they're changin' too. If not, their cities may be in danger and there's no one there to protect them."

"But," Amanda asked, "what about Chicago?"

"Junior'd be more than happy to fight some real monsters, I know." It's true too. He's a destructive little bastard. Wrecked my room many times. "Chicago's not in good hands, but it will be safe, as long as he's not bored."

"Hey, guys," said Dan, as he put the car in park, "Didja ever get the feeling in the back of your mind that somethin' wasn't right?"

"Y' mean, like, a 'Spider-Sense'?"

"Yeah."

"Yeah..." Amanda and I're both getting nervous now.

"Well, my 'Spider-Sense' is going nuts."

*BUMP.*

And Junior's on the hood of the car, bloody, bruised, and with a monkey's tail. We look up to see two J.T. and Kay.

"'Izzat yo' bitch?'"
