Chapter 21: 'Revelations and Roomates' (first person: Tay)

"HOW many rooms?" Asked the In-keep.

"Uhh....five? Three with double beds, please?" I asked, while the guy at the desk stared at the group behind me. Of course, I had my tail hidden, Daniel had his hood on, Jr. looked normal anyway, Red was wearing his trench coat, Joe had his tail wrapped around his waist to look like a belt, and Menkin......well, he's just Menkin. And REBB was unknowingly, to us, peeking his head through a window. Which was probably just the icing on the cake.

"I...uh, okayyyy..." He hands me three keys and room numbers. "Here's the single beds." he says as he hands me the fourth and fifth keys. Of course, I'm smiling all the while, so as not to get him too suspicious.

"Okay! Thank you!" I say in my most believable fake falsetto voice. I turn to the rest of the group. "Alright, Red. You will, UNFORTUNATELY, have to share a room with Jr." I turn away quickly to Joe and Menkin to avoid Jr.'s snide remark, and Red's look of horror. "You two will also share a room." Joe looks confused.

"Aren't you and I gonna share a room?" I decide to play along.

"You'll see."^_~

I then give REBB his key so he could have his own room, hopefully its ceiling was high enough. Then, I turned to Iggy...

"And here's yours and Amanda's room."^-^

Daniel looks at the room number on the key-chain.O_O"Sixty nine!"

I wink at him, "Amanda made that a special request..."^-~

Then I turn to go wait on Amanda outside so I could tell her the setup, when Joe asked me something, "What's the fifth key for?"

I turn around,"Me. I get a room all to myself." Then go out the door.

It seemed to take for ever for Amanda to return. When I told her the room, all she did was lift an eyebrow and make a sound was something between an 'Mmmmm' and a someone pleasantly smelling a flower. A definite reaction from a nympho...

Then it was time to go get my own stuff. This was gonna be hard. I could tell my mom, but then she'd totally get freaked out. I almost reeled out of there, wanting to get it over with.

"Hey." is all I say when I pass through the living room and head to the door of my room. Luckily I threw up a 'glamor' charm before I entered the house. My brother and dad were sitting there on the couch watching some WB show. They're t.v.-holics. I grab a duffle bag in my closet and begin to stuff it with odds and ends. I don't think I'll even be able to wear any of my clothes now, since I'm a whole new size. Then I raid the stash of money I have hidden. I think maybe I can buy new stuff. Then I set everything on my bed. Then I make my way to my mom's bedroom.

It's one of those days for her. She was moving about this morning, now she's bedridden. All those pills she has to take makes it where she acts like a child and can hardly remember anything at times, or really grown-up and can become easily pissed. Although, she didn't use to be like this.

I find her asleep on her bed. I doubt she'll remember anything I'm about to tell her.
"Mom? Mom, wake up. It's me." I slightly touch her when she opens her eyes.

"Yolanda?" That's my name in the family, and whomever has known me since I was little.

"Yeah. I'm going to Amanda's now, alright? I have to find out some stuff. Wierd things are happening, and I need to know what's going on."

"I know. You're changing, aren't you? Like the others?"

This catches me off gaurd."What? How-?"

"Shhhh.... I'm going to go to sleep now. Have fun at Amanda's. I love you."

I watch her eyes close to the pain she was currently going through, and gave her a kiss on the forehead."I love you, too." I whisper.

I peeled out of my driveway. Something was DEFINATELY happening. My mom just told me she knew what I was going through, which was some shit. It wasn't her speaking, nor was it the pills. I knew I would be driving for a while before I got back to the motel....

It was almost four in the morning before I got back, and my mind was STILL reeling, no matter how long the joy ride had lasted. I pull up and spot Amanda and Iggy on the balcony of their room. Apparently, my house wasn't the only spot where strange things were going on.

Right before I enter the motel, I sense someone approaching, but they weren't of any threat. I squint my eyes, slightly into the darkness. "Yes? Who is it?"

"I AM in Dalton, right?!" The figure said.

"Death Giver?"

"Um, yeah?"

"I'm Tay. MSTer off of Amanda's team?"

"You mean I made it?!"

"We're all sharing rooms." I sigh. "I guess you can take Joe's bed. I'll go ahead and share my room with him."

I knock on Joe's and Menkin's room. I heard them chating something, but they quietened before I could hear anything comprehensible. "Yes?" replied Joe.

"It's me. Tay. And Death Giver's with me." The door opens.

"Hey, DG!" replies Menkin.

"Whazzup my man?" says Joe.

/Geez, you'd think they'd be at a party or something.../

"Can DG crash here?"

"But there's only two beds." said Joe.

"Exactly. You're coming with me." I reply as I pull him by the arm to 'our' room. Of course DG and Menkin are making a hoopla out of it as if he were gonna get something. /Men..../

As I unlock the door and enter it, I see only one bed.

"SO! Which side am I gonna be on?" he asks with a big goofy grin on his face.

I scowl, "The floor."

"What?! I could've done that in the other room!"

I grit my teeth, "Fine..... Just stay on your side and maybe you'll wake up with all your parts!"

^-^"Okay!"
