This is why I got rid of my 2002 M3. You guys are not on the same page. Obviously there are documented failures on roadfly.com that number over 100 now. I'm sure there are plenty more that have never been documented. You want to problem aknowledged publically? Distribute a letter to all owners of cars with failed engines or of cars in the failure window and get a lawyer. It's called a class action. It doesnt have to start out as a lawsuit but merely a way of acting as team against a very big company. Anyone who owns a 2001/2002 M3 is screwed when trade in time comes in a few years or less. If I was a dealer and you came to me with your cars I would tell you that I'll give you very little for your ticking timebomb. Lets face it, anyone who has been to this site and is considering a M3 certainly will think twice about a 2001/2002 M3. Who even knows what will happen to the replacement engines in a few years. Hey I know that after I read all these failures I got rid of my car. How many people do you think will think twice if they are making a decision on buying a used M3? Get together pay a lawyer and send a serious letter demanding BMW address the situation.
