Subject: M3 Engine

I suspect that a lot of the engine problems detailed by many owners have to do with improper break-in procedures. I have a 2003 coupe purchased in April that performs flawlessly at any sustained RPM and with 5000 miles has yet to use a drop of oil. The M3 engine is essentially a racing engine, tightly wound and appears to run smoother once 2-3000miles have been logged. its tough to run in a car that wants to go fast in all gears, and most buyers I know have the attitude that since its under warranty anyway, and BMW makes it, whats the point in taking it easy those first crucial 1200 miles.
