Hi Wayne,

I, too, certainly understand your concerns. One issue I'd like to address, though, is that these failures are not due to over-revving the engine. The bottom-end failures are due to failing main bearings, either because they're out-of-spec or not getting enough oil.

Therefore, the ability to downshift so easily with SMG, the Launch Control, and the "Burnout Mode" have little bearing (pardon the pun) on the issue. In fact, SMG is a real benefit, as it won't let you downshift into the redline, whereas the manual would allow a "money shift" like any other manual-transmission car.

Like Stan, I hope we have a fair resolution here soon, and one that also benefits those in your part of the world.
