Any young wanna-be cricketer could have learnt alot if he had been present at Doo'cot Park today at just before 7pm. What he would have seen was a perfect innings played under pressure, a 'finisher' or 'Thorpey' knock even. Making his way to the wicket with 2 needed to win from several overs one Alexander J. Fyfe closed out the innings with some inspired use of the pad and the ability to manipulate the single. Not only was the innings technically perfect but his temperment was first class. The confidence he displayed in making his way to the crease was not even shaken by the wise crack asides coming from a smattering of spectators and his ability to focus on the job at hand was little other than impressive. Just a pity about his crass behaviour in the field for the previous 46 overs then!
