Just wondered what you thought of my winter Test tour parties with suggested starting XIs (Flintoff must bat at 6 all winter):

Bangladesh :

M Vaughan (1)
M Trescothick (2)
M Butcher (3)
V Solanki (5)
P Collingwood (4)
A Strauss
A Flintoff (6)
K Pietersen
G Jones (7)
M Wallace
G Batty or J Brown or G Swann (8)
Kabir Ali (9)
J Anderson (11)
M Hoggard
J Kirtley (10)
R Johnson

No point in making Hussain and Thorpe play in this series.
Simon Jones to Academy in early part of winter to complete rehabilitation in time for Windies.

Sri Lanka :

M Vaughan (1)
M Trescothick (2)
M Butcher (3)
V Solanki (5)
P Collingwood
G Thorpe (4)
A Flintoff (6)
K Pietersen
G Jones
M Wallace (7)
G Batty or J Brown or G Swann (8)
Kabir Ali (10)
J Anderson
M Hoggard (11)
J Kirtley
A Giles (9)

Two spinners necessary. Rest Hussain, he will be important in Windies but Thorpe was crucial last time in Sri Lanka.

West Indies :

M Vaughan (1)
M Trescothick (2)
M Butcher (3)
V Solanki
P Collingwood
G Thorpe (5)
A Flintoff (6)
N Hussain (4)
G Jones (7)
M Wallace
G Batty or J Brown or G Swann (8)
Kabir Ali
J Anderson or M Hoggard
R Johnson (10)
S Jones (9)
J Kirtley (11)

Drop pace bowler with the poorest winter to date. Johnson, Kirtley, Jones and Ali will all be good on Windies pitches.

Harmison winters at the academy to see if he can be made into a bowler good enough at this level, though I suspect not. Ed Smith has not been assured enough to merit a space but a good winter of club cricket would leave him a contender again next summer.
