Subject: lcd - ibm - flickers

Help! I have an IBM laptop I Series 1400 (2621-460)(with parts also from a (-482). The LCD tends to flicker when the hard drive is being accessed, i.e. it dims under access just a bit. This is driving me mad. I've replaced the inverter, with no change in symptoms. As far as I know the computer has never been damaged by any physical act. I have of course looked at all connections and find no problems. Any ideas anyone?
