Subject: Gateway Solo 3500 series laptop

I got a used solo 3500 laptop for my daughter ... thinking it was a good deal ...maybe I was wrong ...I am not a computer wiz ...and when I turn it on it says no operaating system installed ... it needs an operating system...I would like to install windows 98 on it ..but have no clue how to do this ..one person told me That I need a recovery disc and the installation disc for windows...where can I get this and how do I install if I can find the needed stuff ?
