Subject: toshiba satellite t1910cs boot problem

I writting to you because of a problem with my Toshiba Satellite 1910cs. The problem is the following: when i connect the power supply to the computer the green light stay on. Up to here, the computer seems to be allright, but when I try to power on the computer nothing happens. I´m only capable to hear the hard drive starting and nothing else. The screen does not turn on either (the same happens with and external monitor). If I try to power off the computer the only way to do it is by pressing for a long time the power button. But instead, if I leave the computer "on" for some time, to turn it off I only have to press the power button once (not for a long time). Another important consideration is that if I leave the external power supply connected to the machine (but not with the computer on), after a long time the green light starts flashing.
I hope somebody could help witn the problem.
Thanks in advance.
