Most likely youe inverterboard is defect.

The diff. between backlight and inverter is :
Backlight is a FL- Tube who give your lcd light .
It need about 700 volt to burn..

Inverter(board) is a elect. circuit ( generator) who
transvers the voltage up to 600-700 volt .

there is even a little chance that the mainboard or wires
between board and lcd inverter is defect.
