I've had the same problem with my Dell Lattitude Cpi-A. The problem was solved by reconnecting the battery connector on the motherboard.

If you remove the keyboard, there is a small connector, connecting the battery to the motherboard. It is possible that this connector has a bad connection. Put a small piece of adhasive material on top off the connector and it won't come loose again, since the pressure of the keyboard keeps it in place.

You can test if this is the problem, by swithing the battery to the other multibay.
