Subject: Presario 732 - Reset Motherboard?

I have a Presario 732US Notebook computer that appears to be stuck in standby or the main board has really died. When I power on the computer, the CD/DVD spins and the lights work, but no fans and no POST. Any thoughts? Can I reset the board? Troubleshooting techniques?
