Subject: problems installing win98 on toshiba tecra 740cdt

i have just been given a Toshiba Tecra 740cdt laptop. It was running win 98 but with several errors so i decided the easy solution was to reformat and reinstall win98. Have done this on several desktops without problems but never on a laptop. It is now formatted but when i put in the win 98 disk it dosent seem to recognise the cd drive, and i keep getting the error message - "Invalid system disk replace the disk and press any key"

nothing works, and i didnt get the user guide with the laptop but have found one online tho that didnt help at all

would be really grateful for any help
