Subject: Gateway Solo 2500

Picked up a Solo 2500 at a yard sale for $2. Had a charger from another Solo and it charged up fine. Press pwr, hear hdd spin up and CD lcd shows up on lcd display but it doesn't go any farther.
I'm a tech (for 6 years) and on a desktop would check video card first since it doesn't seem to fire up, but I haven't worked on laptops. Now that I have a $2 one, I'm willing to experiment a bit.

Any suggestions, sources or tips you could give would be much appreciated.
