Subject: is there a usb 2.0 pc card that will work in an hp ze5000

I have an Hp ze5000 laptop which is great with an exception -- no USB 2.0 ports. I have tried 4 different USB 2.0 PC cards (IOflex, Dynex, Belkin, and Adaptec). They either: 1. crash the battery (Dynex) requiring removal of the card and the battery, and power on with AC adaptor only, then reinsert the battery and power on to restore to normal condition; or, 2. the card is "recognized" by the ze5000, BUT no USB device is "seen" when connected to the card. Any ideas?
