Hello All:

Allow me to make the first introduction. I am a 25 year old software developer. I started living in Kamloops in 1999 when I started school at UCC. Previous to Kamloops, I lived in Coquitlam preceded by Prince George. Prince George is where I grew up and I graduated from College Heights Secondary School (in case anyone knows Prince George). I have now graduated from UCC and I am still in Kamloops enjoying working and playing.

To keep me busy after work, I enjoy travelling, skiing, playing pool, seeing movies, badminton, scuba diving, hanging with friends, camping/fishing, playing board games/cards, golfing. I enjoy all sorts of things and I am willing to try anything once. It's with that mentality that I went skydiving this summer :).

I first found out about the Lord of the Rings coming to theatres in 2001 when I saw the teaser trailer attached to Thirteen Days. Ever since then I have been hooked. Having just read the books for the first time a year previous, I was very excited to see the movies. Now that I have seen the first 2 movies, I can tell you that they surpassed my expectations. That makes me hugely excited for the Return of the King. I am sure you all feel the same way.

I started this line party last year with the hope of meeting some new people and giving other people the opportunity to meet others as well.

Questions:

1) What are your favorite parts in The Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers (books or movies)?

Fellowship:
- The introduction (the last alliance)
- the whole introduction of Arwen (riding to Rivendell pursued by Nazgul). There was something magical about that sequence
- The council of Elrond (the extended edition version)
- The part where Gandalf stands to face the Balrog and the sequence after where everyone thinks he is dead
- The whole Lothlorien scene (in the extended edition)
- Borimor defending Merry and Pippen to his death
- Borimor's death scene with Aragorn
- Frodo and Sam in the boat

Two Towers:
- The return of Gandalf
- Eowyn standing outside of the Golden Hall while the camera pans around Edoras
- The transformation of Theoden
- Theoden mourning the death of his son
- Sam and Smeagol's argument about rabbit stew
- All the Arwen/Aragorn scenes
- Eowyn seeing that Aragorn has not returned from the warg battle
- the whole Helm's Deep battle
- the arming of the children for battle at Helm's deep
- The last march of the Ents
- Sam's speech after Frodo almost runs him through
- The dialogue between Frodo and Same out being put into stories (at the end)

2) Have you read the books? If yes, what do you think of the book-to-movie adaptation so far?

Yes, I have read them twice. I think the adaptation is genius - great job Peter Jackson and crew!. There is just one complaint I have.....why is it Faramir's intention to take the ring back to Gondor? In the books he plays a more informed guy who is able to resist the tempation of the ring from the start.

3) What are you most excited about seeing in the Return of the King?

- I want to see if Saruman is killed at Orthanc (change from the book)
- The continuing maturing of Pippen and Merry
- The death of Theoden scene
- The paths of the Dead
- Shelob!!!
- Frodo's "death" scene
- the battle at the Pelennor Fields
- the death of the witch king
- the defeat of Sauron
- and many more....

Just so you know, all your introduction don't have to be as long as mine. I just wanted to provide an example of some things that you can use.

I wish everyone the best and I hope to talk to you all soon. BRING ON THE RETURN OF THE KING!!!!
