Hello all!

Hey. My name is Jennifer (silivrenmoe is the closest I could get in Sindarin). I'm 22, and a student at U.C.C., finishing up my B.A. I'm a big fan of LotR, and was so excited when I found out there was a group set up in Kamloops. I first read the trilogy when I was 11, although back then I found it too wordy and skimmed a lot of the descriptions. Since then I've reread it several times and now I love the entire text, as well as the Hobbit, and the parts of the Simlarillion that I can get through.

I really love the movies and think that Jackson has done the best job translating the book to film. Although some important things have been changed or left out, as a whole the series captures the most important ideas and makes it accessible to everyone! (Well mostly, I still have to explain the movie to my boyfriend afterwards, but at least he knows why I love the books so much now).

There's just too much to say about what my favourite parts are, but I will try to narrow it down: I love actually being able to hear elvish spoken instead of trying to read it, I like how Pippin and Merry lighten things up, and how more attention is paid to Arwen in the movies. The second movie was just incredible with all the fight scenes, and attention paid to detail. I didn't agree with the change maid to Faramir's character, but I realise that Frodo had to be delayed so that the timeline between the two plots remained about the same.

(minor spoilers)
I just saw the preview for RotK, and am most looking forward to Aragorn recieving Narsil, seeing Eowyn in battle, and seeing how Jackson ends the trilogy. I intend to be there for the first showing of the movie, and hope to see you there!
