We all know and agree that Karen Carpenter has a one of a kind voice. Sound-a-likes have tried to imitate her but none have yet to capture her essence completely.

Who are other singers with a one of a kind voice?

Here are a few I think fall into that category:

Annie Lennox: Her voice is soulful and rich.
Dusty Springfield: She definitely is one of the greatest female vocalists of all-time.

Patti Page, her voice always rich and clear. Often wondered what if she had a duet with Karen?

Ella Fitzgerald, soulful

Chrissie Hynde ( The Pretenders ) - She can rock, but she can also sing a ballad with soul and emotion.

Donna Summer - She has a beautiful and powerful voice.

Olivia Newton John, just like Karen, you'll know it's her when you hear her voice.

I Love the version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" of Chrissie Hynde

I saw Donna Summer in concert at The Cerritos Performing Arts Center (which is not to far from Downey, California). Donna was amazing as she sang all her great hits. The highlight was an accapella rendition of an old Gospel song. Her voice is still excellent - she's a vocal powerhouse.

Nancy Sinatra, at least, listen the James Bond theme You Only Live Twice(a theme from 1966).¿Would be Karen influenced by the singing style of Nancy Sinatra?).
Another one is Anne Murray, listen her version of Daydream Believer.
And the last one,Rita Coolidge, listen the movie theme from Splash.

How about Debbie Harry of Blondie and Crystal Gayle. Crystal has such a unique voice and her hair is absolutely beautiful.
