I hope someone can help me out on this. I had read several
times that the carpenters had appeared on the muppet show. For those who do not know about the show, this was a 1/2 hour weekly show, from the late 70s. What songs were sung? Can anyone verify this. THANKS IN ADVANCE Carlo

I checked out two different Muppet's site which had episode guides and neither of them listed The Carpenters as guests. I also looked through a few Carpenters sites and nothing is mentioned anywhere about them doing the Muppet show.
Possibly it was a Sesame Street appearance.

The fan club newsletters doesn't mention any appearance in the Muppet Show or Sesame Street. In 1973 The Carpenters went to the TV program "Robert Young with the Youngs" where they were guests with some characters from Sesame Street and a children's group. Carpenters performed Sometimes and Sing(for the first time). See the booklet in the LP The Singles 69-73.
