I was almost 12 years old when "the Singles 1969-1973" was released. At that point my neighborhood friends and I used to listen and sing along to Three Dog Night, The Osmonds, and the Jackson 5. But the Carpenters' Singles 69-73 was by far our ultimate favorite album.
We knew every song word for word by heart. One time we went camping and sang songs like Top Of The World, Sing and We've Only Just Begun around the campfire.
And still 30 years later I just can not tire of the Carpenters. Their music is truly timeless and Karen's voice is a real TREASURE.
