She released an album of Christian Hymns about 2 years ago. She does have a very nice voice, and maybe even sound somewhat like Karen, but definitely not comprable to Karen Carpenter. Karen is a one and only who had such a very distinctive unique voice. I've heard so many sound a likes throughout my years and they all fall short of the very sincere quality that Karen possessed. there was more to Karen than just the voice. It was the overall package with Karen. She was an excellent drummer. she had an interesting personality - she was feminine yet somewhat a tomboy. She was also unusual looking, I mean she was very attractive, but she also had an unusual quality in her looks. Even the clothes she wore weren't typical. However, this might be a shot for Richard to at least recreate the sound, if not exactly. No one wants to replace Karen. She was to inspirational. However, Sue would be a compliment to a distinctive sound that only one (Karen) can achieve but, others could once again appreciate. It is a need to hear these sounds again, that can be filled for so many others. The fans are what signified the appreciation that Richard and Karen both deserved for their talents. It was pure meloncholly to desire a repeat performance. Just did not want to wait to get to heaven to listen to her sing again. Selfish as it is, the sincerity was purely form the heart. I really do miss Karen's voice and the sound K&R made together. If only to have her back on Earth for a day what a wonderful gift that would be. Sue Nixon has a wonderful voice and what I've read of her she seems to be a very nice and interesting person. It might be interesting if she and Richard were to team together. Richard really does need that special voice to work with. I think Norah Jones and Richard Carpenter could possibly work very well together. Norah has a very unique and wonderful voice. A lot of people are so overwhelmed by that VOICE that they all wanted to sound like Karen. Here, in Manila, we have a Karen Carpenter of the Philippines. Her name is Claire dela Fuente. She was very popular in the late seventees. She is also very open to the fact that she imitates karen's voice and that she is a die hard Karen fan. There was even a rumour right after karen;'s death that Richard was scouting for a new lead singer. Reportedly, a local record executive brought Claire dela Fuente's tapes to Richard, listened to Claire singing Love Me for What I Am (a huge hit here), upon hearing the tape, Richard cried....Years later, he was supposed to have a concert here, with a local artist doin the vocals, but the concert was cancelled.
