Are the designers working for free? Is the engineer working for free? And is ect ect working for free? If not, you can well figure someone is expecting to profit, get richer by this plan?

This project is already hosed but if the giant lava lamp did get built I suspect they would need to use the city fire truck to daily hose off the million bugs that are smashed all over the lava globe. Takes City money to pull a fire truck.

The Lava Crew will have to hire the City Crew. They will need a sanitary engineer wagon to pick up all the dead birds in the street after they crash into the towering glass lava lamp.

re seeking free money. Who ever said grant money is free money, comes from taxes. Why would the rich philanthropists want to give money to build a lava lamp in the middle of nowhere, they have better things to do.

money has no value. value is only in what is done with money. sam never thought of himself as rich. sam gave no money away. paul and bill are not philanthropists. they, like others, use money only for their own causes.

Money is the root of all evil, especially when you don't have it. There are those who still condemning a millionaire, putting the blame on the rich for holding soap lake back. A jealous and idiotic excuse! Have no condemnation, let the rich live as they please. You can't intimidate the rich! Those who don't have any money or a real life of their own sit around dreaming up ways to get rich quick; try to drag the City into their schemes and want a free ride on money other than their own cause they don't have money.

THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL IS NOT MONEY. THERE ARE MANY KIND PEOPLE WITH MEANS IN SOAP LAKE. MEANS COME TO THOSE WITH WAYS. WAYS AND MEANS ARE SACRED. MONEY CANNOT HELP OR HURT ANYONE. NO DIFFERENT THEN GUNS. GUNS DONT KILL. PEOPLE DO. A TOWN CANNOT BE HELD BACK OR HELPED FORWARD - PEOPLE DO THAT. PEOPLE WHO HAVE MONEY, HAVE IT FOR GOOD REASONS. PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE IT, ARE PENNYLESS BY THEIR OWN DOING. DREAMERS WITH SCHEMES TO GET OTHERS TO GIVE THEM MEANS NEVER SUCCEED. LIKE WILLIE NELSON'S TUNE SAYS, "IF YOU GOT THE MONEY, HONEY, I GOT THE TIME."

Been said, "beggers can't be choosy." The lava lamp is not a good choice. A project that is based on begging for money is can be a substanial risk. I believe those that have know-how secure their on fiancial future before they try to be thee small town leading entrepenuers. Best idea is to look at financial track records before you sock any faith or money into impromptu proposals that lack fiancial backing. Just for starters, when projects start off with begging, watch out. Clue # 1: meager funds, no security.

Beggars believe they can be choosy. $25 million to build a giant lava lamp is a ridiculous idea. Cost of capital on $25 is over $1 million a year. Who is going to put up $25 million for the opportunity to lose $1 million a year in interest alone? A mad man.

Paul Allen is not a mad man. The lavalamp team now wants to talk about helping the needy in town, the hungry, the homeless, the unemployed. What have Glassco and Blake done in the past 5 years to help these populations? NOTHING. ZILCH. They did not talk about these until the lavalamp idea ran into opposition. So, they got publicity. This publicity has made the towm the laughing stock in the world.

Do an intenet search on keywords: GIANT LAVA LAMP, to find out the ridicule being heaped at the town.

And the City Council says they can use all the publicity they can get. LAUGHABLE.

Those with the means, have their way. Those with no means, get NOTHING. That's the way in works when you have the means.

Did an internet search. Here is one: Ideas-Soap Lake
Soap Lake News Updated October 5, 2002 Hi John, The lava lamp is beautiful. I can hardly wait to see it in person! The only part that concerns me is the searchlight, visible for 50 miles, shining vertically. Is this 50 miles up, down, or sideways?
